Carrier Transicold, the transport refrigeration branch of Carrier is currently seeking to fill an HR Manager position located in Syracuse, NY.
This position will support the Performance Parts Group (aftermarket division of Transicold) and Transicold Engineering population on a global and local level. This role is also in charge of Transicold Syracuse campus, Container and Bus divisions for their North American populations. With a total of more than 650 employees (some unionized) located across 3 continents, the position offer a wide array of challenges and opportunities.
Main responsibilities (not limited to):
- Organizational effectiveness (be a business partner for the various divisions in identifying opportunities to improve efficiency through organizational design and people development)
- Productivity (owner of the employment cost envelope, lead initiatives to continuously improve productivity and imnpact cost reduction)
- Compensation and benefits (lead merit increase decision/execution, employment cost planning and administration, presentations to employees on benefits during enrollment...etc)
- Industrial Relations (lead for IR for Carrier Syracuse Campus: 100 unionized hourly, responsible for grievance hearings and resolutions, lead interactions with union representation and business leaders on any HR matters related to the unionized workforce)
- Staffing (manage the entire recruitment process including interviews, able to guide and support managers during the selection process to ensure the best talent sourcing possible)
- Performance Management (provide support, guidance and training to managers/employees on performance issues, assessment tools, lead the Leadership Development Reviews activities)
- Employee Satisfaction Survey (support administration, results analysis and actions implementation)
- Quality (Lead continuous improvement initiatives on HR Processes)
- Diversity (owner of the AAP process and plans for the divisions this position support)
- Ad hoc projects based on business needs
This position is involved in all aspects of the HR function
Master degree in HR with 7 to 10 years of experience. 7 to 10 years of HR experience as HR Manager (Generalist) including significant experience of unionized workforce.
International experience or dealing with international workforce would be a plus.
Customer focused, open minded, analytical, team player, willing to grow, eager to take on new challenges.
